Paul McGarty, currently CEO, ALTANA Inc, is jointly leading the ALTANA Pharma US, Inc. management team until a new CEO can be named. At present, Paul leads the team managing the Fougera, Savage, PharmaDerm and Pharmaderm Animal Health divisions of ALTANA Inc, which is headquartered in Melville, New York.

Prior to joining ALTANA, Paul was Sr. Vice President, US Operations for Taro Pharmaceuticals. He had general management responsibilities (including sales, marketing, manufacturing, distribution, etc.) for Taro USA, which represents over $250 million in sales and 90% of Taro Pharmaceuticals worldwide business. Paul expanded the U.S. Operation into new business segments, leveraging the core Generics business infrastructure while adding new capabilities to support direct-to-consumer and physician-based businesses. Paul spent five years as President and CEO of Aesgen, Inc. a start-up focused on CNS and oncology clinical leads. In addition, Paul spent time at Bristol Myers Squibb as Director of Franchise Management for CNS Products. Paul began his career at American Cyanamid (Lederle) where he held positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing, sales, marketing and business development.

Paul sits on the Foundation Board of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) and the Foundation Board of Farmingdale University. Paul has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from Pace University.
